BACK TO THE BEACH
More Sun, sea and squash
29 May - 01 Jun 2008, Antibes

The Sunshine Masters, which was inaugurated last summer, is returning to France from May 29th to June 1st.

This year's competition will be held at the Antibes Squash Club situated on the French coast between Nice and Cannes -- and like the recent World Open in Bermuda -- Club and hotel are next to one another with the beautiful Mediterranean Sea just a short drive away.

The event is open to men and women’s age categories from over 35 through to over 60’s and aims to combine the best of French hospitality with four days of fun competitive squash.

Tony Hands of Hands and Rye, a former top ten player now based in France said:

“We had a great time with this event last year and we are keen to see it grow from strength to strength. It is a wonderful social event and this year we look forward to welcoming friends old and new. As well as the squash there will be a number of extras activities as well as a Peter Nicol Exhibition.”

The closing date is April 11th and draws will be a Monrad format guaranteeing each participant a minimum of three matches. Transport from the event hotel to the venue is included. The nearest airport is Nice and flights with Easyjet will be coming on line soon.

Hands and Rye Travel and Eventis Sports Marketing announce the launch of a new Masters Squash event to be held in sunny Aix-en-Provence in the South of France from April 12th –15th.

The event is open to all levels with both men and women’s age categories starting from over 35 through to over 60’s and aims to combine the best of French hospitality with four days of fun competitive squash.

In addition the Sunshine Masters Team Cup players can enter their individual events but can also be part of a team of 5 or more, each players earn points for the team according to their final position in their event and the aggregate score competes for the cup. This offers a great opportunity for a club, company or group of friends to find their nemesis and enjoy some team building.

"I have been working on this concept for some time and the opportunity to work with Eventis and combine all our experience in squash and travel seemed to be a good fit."

Hands and Rye,
former top ten player now based in France

The closing date is March 23rd and draws will be a Monrad format guaranteeing each participant a minimum of three matches. Transport from the event hotel to the venue is included. The nearest airport is Marseille.

"We chose a Masters event as there are more and more players of that age and a limited number of events to play in. Although there will be plenty of squash we aim to provide participants a top class social event and time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. To this end we are laying on a number of optional extras including golf and wine tasting."

Former world No.1 & Eventis Director

"The combination of good weather, top class accommodation, superb cuisine and competitive squash make excellent bedfellows.

"As well as Peter Nicol’s Legends Exhibition where he will be challenged by the former world number 2 and legendary double hander Peter Marshall, the participants will be treated to a champagne reception, welcome dinner and Casino Royale night with blackjack roulette and competition for best James Bond and Bond Girl!"
