High Drama in Hull

Shorbagy & Serme are Allam British Open Champions
Camille Serme & Mohamed El Shorbagy lifted their first ever titles in a day of high drama & emotion in Hull at the Allam British Open.
Serme held her nerve to over-come England's Laura Massaro who had sensationally upset seed top seed & defending Champion Nicol David the previous day.  Despite drawing on the everything she had in her locker, Massaro was unable to reclaim the title she had won in 2013 and Serme became the first ever winner of the womens event.
Greg Gaultier was looking to compete a Frenc double in defending his title, but Egypt's World no.1 Mohamed El Shorbagy clearly had other ideas. In a fast and furious encounter, both players threw everything they had at lifting the title and it was Shorbagy wh eventually came out on top. As he fell to the floor it was clear what the title meant.
Camille Serme vt Laura Massaro 3-1 (11/3 11/5 8/11 11/8)
Mohamed El Shorbagy bt Greg Gaultier 3-2 (11-9 6/11 11/5 8/11 11/5)
